One Week One Pattern Day 1

Hoy empieza One Week One Pattern. Ya sabéis que consiste en hacer diferentes versiones de un mismo patrón. Escogí los Petite shorts, por que me gusta como me sientan. La primera versión que os enseño es la original. No pensaba modelarlos yo misma, por que no sé posar y además mis fotos quedan fatal. Tengo que aprender a hacer buenas fotos. Pero al final me he atrevido. Bueno, no del todo.

Today begins One Week One Pattern. You know that consists in making different versions of the same pattern. I choose the Petite shorts, because I like how they fit me. The first version I show is the original. I didn't think on modeling myself, because I don`t know how to pose and besides my photos are awful. I have to learn to make good photos. But at the end I've taken a chance. Well, not quite.

Ayer cuando llegué a casa tenía una gran sorpresa esperándome, el paquete del Moon Munkie que gane de The Seek Speak estaba allí. No sabía que esperar, y lo que encontré realmente me asombró. Había un montón de cosas que han hecho a mi mente empezar a planear que hacer con ellas. Me he inspirado en un minuto desde que las he visto, pero no puedo dejar de pensar como Seeks ha podido deshacerse de todo eso. Entre corazones hechos de papel, había dos piezas de goma eva, un jersey rosa, un trozo de tela, cinta elástica azul, un pañuelo de seda, una bonita cinta de adorno (tampoco sé como llamarlo en español), cinta para costuras y un patrón vintage que es lo que más me ha alucinado. Primero porque es vintage y segundo porque quería hacer esta falda de Victory Patterns y ahora tengo el primer patrón de la falda.

Yesterday, when I get home I had a big surprise waiting for me, the Moon Munkie package I won from The Seek Speak was there. I didn' know what to expect, and what I found really amazed me. There were a lot of things that have made my mind start planning what to do with them. I've been inspired in a minute since I saw those things, but I can't stop thinking how could Seeks get rid of all this stuff, because it's amazing.  Among hearts made of paper, there were two pieces of eva foam, a pink sweater, a piece of  fabric, blue elastic, a silk scarf, a beautiful piece of lace tape (I don't know how to name it in english), seam binding and a vintage pattern that has amazed me the most. First of all because is vintage, and the second because I wanted to make this skirt from Victory Patterns, but now I have the very first pattern of the skirt.

 

Pero la verdad es que no sé si usar todo esto o enmarcarlo y admirarlo. No puedo esperar a trabajar con ello, pero será en una semana porque mañana empieza el One Week One Pattern y voy a estar ocupada. Como siempre he empezado tarde. Hasta mañana!

But the truth is that I don't know whether to use this stuff or frame it and admire it. I can't wait to work with it, but it'll be in a week because tomorrow begins the One Weed One Pattern and I'm gonna be busy. As always I've started late. See you tomorrow!

Vintage Modern Design Challenge

As I said in the previous post I'm participating in the Vintage Modern Design Challenge. Finally I could make my entry in the contest, although the coat isn't completely finished. It lefts a half of the collar and my mother is still working on it. Thank you Mom! When it's finished I will make a proper post, but you can see it here. Although my lovely sisters are making campaing to help me get votes, I don't think I can win. I think that my coat is a very goog candidate, but there are very good jobs in this challenge. I have already made my votes and these are some of my favourites. Though I don't really like the jacket itself, I love the neat finish of this jacket, the fall of the sleeve and the perfect fit on the dressform. From this one I like the shape, the colour, the embroidery and the sharp finish of the lapel. I love this dress, this skirt with contrast binding, another skirt  with contrast binding and beautiful lace detail and finally I like this bag for the funny print,  just to name a few. Como dije en la entrada anterior, estoy participando en el Vintage Modern Design Challenge. Finalmente pude participar en el concurso, aunque el abrigo no está terminado del todo. Queda la mitad del cuello y mi madre sigue trabajando en ello. Gracias Mamá! Cuando esté terminado haré un post apropiado, pero lo podéis ver aquí. Aunque mis encantadoras hermanas están haciendo campaña para conseguir votos, no creo que pueda ganar. Creo que mi abrigo es un buen candidato, pero hay muy buenos trabajos en este desafío. Yo ya he votado y estos son algunos de mis favoritos. Aunque no me gusta esta chaqueta en sí misma, me encanta el acabado tan limpio, la caída de la manga y el perfecto ajuste en el maniquí. De esta me gusta la forma, el color, el bordado y el acabado definido de la solapa. Me encanta este vestido, esta falda con vivos en contraste, otra falda con vivos en contraste y bonito detalle de encaje y finalmente me gusta este bolso por el divertido estampado, solo por nombrar algunos.
