Hace un mes / A month ago

Parece que me está costando un poco seguir con la confección de mi chaqueta. Algunos problemillas han retrasado mi avance. Uno de ellos es la falta de tela, cuando empecé a casar cuadros no me di cuenta de que no tenía tanta tela como creía, así que me tocó esperar hasta que pude comprar más para la vistas. El otro es que al cortar la entretela del delantero, que es asimétrico, me confundí y lo hice al revés. Así es mi vida!
He entretelado todo el abrigo para que sea un poco más calentito. He utilizado una entretela fina que me gusta mucho por que da cuerpo pero no queda tieso. Así es como está!

It seems that it's taken me a bit the preparation of my jacket. Some little problems have delayed my progress. One is the lack of material, when I started to match the plaid  I did not realize that I hadn´t so much fabric as I thought, so I had to wait until I could buy more for the facings. The other is that cutting the interfacing of the front which is asymmetric, I get confused and I did the opposite. This is my life!
I interfaced all the coat to make it a little warmer. I used a lightweight fusible interfacing that I really like because it gives body but is not stiff. That's how it looks!

También use esta entretela para esta chaqueta. Aunque yo hice el patrón, está totalmente basado en el número 133 de la revista Burda Style de Noviembre 2010, excepto por la pinza del delantero que no sabía cual era su función. Ahora sé, supongo, que es para evitar una onda que hace esa parte de la chaqueta.

I also used this interfacing on this jacket. Although I drafted the pattern myself it's totally based on the number 133 from the Burda Style magazine from Novemeber 2010, except the dart of the front that I didn't know which was its function. Now I know, I suppose, it's to avoid a wave that part of the jacket makes.

Chaquetón/Short Coat

He decidido deshacerme de todas las telas que he ido acumulando con los años. Adoro las telas y por mí las dejaría tal cual, son tan bonitas que me da pena estropearlas. A las que yo he comprado se han unido otras que mi madre tenía guardadas por ahí, algunas con 20 años o más. Una de ellas es esta tela de cuadros que al principio no me gustaba mucho, al final me encanta, podría hacerla unos flecos y usarla como manta, pero va a ser una chaquetón. Como quería que se viera el cuadro y no tuviera muchos cortes, voy a hacer un costadillo italiano y unos pequeños pliegues en el cuello y el frente. A ver que me sale! I've decided to get rid of all the fabrics that I have accumulated over the years. I love the fabrics and I'd leave them the way they are because they are so beautiful that I 'm afraid  to damage. I have also some fabrics my mother had stored, some with 20 years or more. One of them is this plaid fabric that at first I didn't like but now I love, I could make some fringes and use it as a blanket, but it's going to be a short coat. As I wanted to see the squares clear and not to have many cuts, I'll make an Italian seam and a small folds in the neck and front. I don't know what I'll get! By the way, welcome to my blog!
